Susan is a graduate of St. Anselm College and Northeastern University’s Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program. She worked with families as a pediatric nurse practitioner for over forty years and is a Certified Prevention Specialist, educating and advocating on issues of mental health and substance misuse. Susan and her husband have facilitated a weekly family support group (FASTER) for 21 years for adults who have a loved one living with substance misuse disorder.
In 2020, Susan earned an MFA in non-fiction writing from Southern NH University. She is an author and speaker promoting healthy relationships, strengthening marriage, and preventing divorce. Susan published her first book, Beyond the First Dance-A Guide for Couples to Think Beyond their Wedding Day, for those contemplating marriage. Her second book Beyond the Tango- A Guide for a Thriving Marriage while Juggling Careers, Kids, and Chaos is for married couples. She currently publishes a blog every two weeks and speaks to businesses to help employees balance work and family and improve harmony at home.
Susan and her husband Patrick presented workshops for 44 years to over 4,000 engaged couples on issues that affect married life. In 2016, they were presented the Good Samaritan Award by Pastoral Counseling Services. They have been married 52 years, have raised four children, and are blessed with two grandchildren.
